Homes for All AmeriCorps program provides the perfect opportunity to gain resume-boosting skills while helping families and households secure and maintain safe, healthy, affordable housing. An AmeriCorps position can also work as a practicum placement.
The Gathering Place is seeking a member in a Housing Services position who can provide homeless services such as case management, housing navigation, and homelessness prevention.
AmeriCorps members commit to a one-year term of service beginning in August and serve 900 hours by July 31st, 2026. Members receive a living allowance of $20,400, money for college or student loans in the amount of $7,395, health insurance, childcare assistance (if income eligible), loan forbearance, student loan interest payments, training, and professional and personal development.
Activities:
General Case Management (50%): supportive services to help obtain or maintain housing; applying for public benefits,
accompanying clients to appointments (e.g., securing an ID), GED or higher education, employment applications.
Client Paperwork and Support (10%): obtain necessary documentation needed for services, referrals, or programs.
Housing Focused Case Management (10%): use of tools such as the SPDAT to support housing stabilization; client-
specific action plans to acquire and/or maintain housing; home visits.
Intake and Assessment (10%): complete intake process with new clients to assess homeownership or home repair
eligibility and make referrals when appropriate for additional services (e.g., credit counseling).
Volunteer Management (10%): oversight of volunteers, offer guidance, manage with intention to retain volunteers.

Living Allowance = $10,200 (gross amount, paid bi-weekly, serve all periods in term of service to receive)
Education Award = $3,697.50 (upon successful completion of the service year and required hours)

Requirements
- Willingness to provide information to complete and undergo a National Service Criminal History Check
- Be at least 17 years of age at the start of service
- High school diploma or GED
- Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Willingness to travel periodically
- Reliable transportation
